Coordinates and performs Central Bone Densitometry of the Lumbar Spine and proximal femur for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Participates in the training of new personnel.
Participates in performance improvement programs.
Participates in patient and family education.
Observes patients and notifies appropriate personnel of significant changes/incidences.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Communicates with patients and their family members in order to educate, explain procedures, and obtain history and informed consent for procedures.
Adhere to radiation safety precautions.
Acquire, Construct and reconstruct bone density images and assist physicians with procedures.
Maintain and/or order department supplies.
Assists physicians with any issues as appropriate.
Notifies appropriate personnel in the event of equipment issues.
Performs appropriate charging procedures and completion of all exams.
Completes all work in Radiology Information System and PACS correctly and in a timely fashion.
Assists with appropriate scheduling of procedures as requested.
Observes patients and notifies appropriate personnel in the event of any significant changes or incidents.
Participates in Performance Improvement initiatives as assigned.
Competent use of hospital information systems including, but not limited to, MRM, PACS, Lawson, Kronos, Outlook e-mail and NetLearning.
Appropriately completes documentation in patient Medical Records.
Participates in Patient Education and Health Fairs.
Utilizes proper appropriate phone etiquette, answering within three rings.
Maintains equipment and schedules repairs as needed.
Performs equipment manufacturer recommended quality control tests and documents results appropriately.
Transports/directs patients/visitors as needed.
Maintains room cleanliness and supplies daily.
Assisting with end of day tasks: Completing DNKA Log, Patient Complaint Process, Pharmacy Supply Restocking, Document delivery to Medical Records and Administrative Offices, Filing Patient Imaging Jackets as needed.
