Position Description
Functions as a liaison between the Medical Staff and hospital Administration. Oversees the operations of the Medical Staff Office department, budgeting and planning. Develops and maintains effective and efficient systems to support the medical staff organization as mandated by the hospital’s governing board. Assists the medical staff in establishing, contributing, and implementation of standards applicable to medical staff members relating to credentialing, and administrative functions. Complies with all applicable regulatory standards.
Position Requirements
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: 1. At least two (2) years experience in medical credentialing 2. Demonstrated knowledge of business correspondence. 3. Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize, exercise independent judgement and maintain confidentiality. 4. Demonstrated problem solving and decision making abilities. 5. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. 6. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. 7. Must be proficient in the use and application of personal computers and word processing, database, and spreadsheet software programs. 8. Ability to maintain tact and diplomacy 9. High School graduate or equivalent
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED: 1. College degree or equivalent 2. Demonstrated supervisory skills. 3. Certification as a Certified Professional in Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) is encouraged. 4. Knowledge of Joint Commission regulations and other applicable regulations as they relate to the medical staff.
