I've been with Northside, really, since 2016. I did relocate in 2019, and unfortunately had to leave, but I'm back. I was able to come back at the end of August, 2020. And I was so excited for this, this opportunity. And really, the question is, you know, what keeps you here? And really, in my case, what made me want to come back? And I knew that coming back to this team I would be coming back to my friends, my family, you know, people who were going to have compassion and empathy, and really just complete support for whatever may come our way on a work day. And having that support really just gives you comfort, knowing that you're working for such a great company that offers great benefits, and just really great volunteer opportunities, whether that be running a 5K, or Open Hand, or going to Ronald McDonald House, you truly become a part of something that's way bigger than yourself. And I'm so blessed to be a part of this team.

My daily routine in Northside Hospital every morning, it's great. First of all, they always say, "Mary, you're always working with some kind of energy." [chuckles] I will greet everybody, get to my huddle. After huddle, I will take report from the previous shift, and then I will start my day. So what I enjoy the most about it, it's at the end of my shift, after, you know, first morning patients, most of them are sleeping. They don't like for you to bother them to take blood pressure. But at the end of the day, we starting to be with my routine, and then we starting developing good relationship patient care. And they enjoy, they can tell me story, I can learn from them, and it's very great to work there.
