Job Details
Position Description
- Prepares various types of hot foods, baked items, sandwiches, and other short order items following production sheets and approved recipes, and prepares modified diet foods for all outlets.
- Performs various types of cooking and baking operations using such standard kitchen equipment as stoves, ovens, broilers, and microwave ovens.
- Ensures that food is prepared using proper quality control (HACCP) and sanitation standards, and in sufficient quantities to minimize waste.
- Distributes food to appropriate locations.
- Ability to work well independently given proper directions.
- Cleans and maintains standard kitchen equipment used in food preparation.
- Ensures that food preparation area is properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Ensures that leftover foods are properly labeled dated and stored properly. Completes food temperature checks utilizing taste and temperature logs.
- Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury-accident to Manager.
Position Requirements
REQUIRED
- One year food service experience.
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
PREFERRED
- Demonstrated knowledge of common diet modifications.
- One (1) year experience as a Cook in Hospital Food Service or restaurant
- ServSafe certification preferred.
