Service Area Overview
We recognize each patient’s journey to recovery is different and requires a special level of care. Our Medical/Surgical Unit at Northside Hospital provides acute and rehabilitative nursing care services to help our patients get back to their daily lives. The Med/Surg unit is characterized by a warm, friendly and caring atmosphere that stresses individual attention for all patients. This approach is reflected in outstanding patient satisfaction survey results. The unit also participates in nursing education by providing internships for students. We also support clinical internships for Patient Care Technicians. If you have the skills to contribute to our team, Northside is eager to talk to you!
Serving as the key leader of the team, the Clinical Supervisor will be responsible for providing direct patient care and supervising the nursing operations of a unit. In the absence of the Manager or Director may assume 24 hour nursing responsibility. Works with a unit specific patient population. Responsibilities include the coordination and maintenance of operational issues related to staffing, finance (including budget), physician relations, patient satisfaction, quality and regulatory compliance.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Two (2) years of recent, acute, medsurg nursing experience is required. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make appropriate clinical and supervisory decisions. Must possess good problem solving skills. Successful completion of a management course prior to appointment, or within six (6) months of employment. Demonstrated leadership capabilities. Certified in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Previous charge/ supervisory experience is strongly desired.
