On any given summer Saturday in Atlanta, most people are thinking about relaxing – and beating the heat. But on Saturday, Aug. 12, with temperatures pushing 90 degrees, a group of Northsiders were putting the needs of others first.
Nearly 200 employees, most with family and friends with them, turned out for our annual Northside Day of Giving. In Atlanta, Canton and Cumming, our volunteer teams spread out and spent the morning working at nine different charities.
From sorting books at the Books for Africa warehouse to working with the Foster Care Support Foundation, Northsiders made a big impact with their efforts, which also included delivering meals to seniors, helping tidy up community gardens and collecting food and clothing donations.
For everyone who took part, the rewards were tangible: A fulfilling day spent with family and friends and the feeling that comes from knowing you’ve helped those in need.
That’s a feeling Northsiders never get tired of! Thanks to all those who gave up their Saturday morning to make a difference in our community.
